These findings are based on an extensive analysis of hundreds of thousands of vehicle sale listings, including the average duration of listings, to determine which cars generate the most interest in the market and which ones sell the fastest.
On average, the BMW X1 was the quickest to sell, taking just 11 days, closely followed by the Lexus NX 350h and the Kia Ceed, both selling within 13 days.
Erin Baker, the editorial director at Auto Trader, highlighted the vast amount of data they have regarding automotive sales trends in the UK, thanks to the constant uploading and updating of listings and successful sales happening daily. The intention behind sharing this data is to showcase the UK’s favorite and most competitive cars in terms of sales. The results reveal a diverse range of models that are in high demand, including luxury vehicles and economical options. From iconic stalwarts like the VW Golf and Mercedes-Benz C-Class to fast-selling hybrids like the Lexus 350h and the impressively practical Kia Ceed, the UK market exhibits a strong interest in a variety of models.
The study also indicates that durability and reliability are significant factors driving popularity in the UK’s used car market, with BMW’s appeal remaining as strong as ever. The brand’s combination of sportiness, elegance, and power has positioned it as the most desired car brand in the UK.
